Reshma Begum was 19-years old when she was working as a seamstress in the Rana Plaza building. The factory collapsed in 2013, leaving more than 1,100 workers dead. After the search for survivors almost came to a close, rescuers heard a banging sound from below the ruins.
They found Begum to be alive after 17 days of being stuck underground. She had found some dried food and a very limited supply of water. That was enough for her to keep going during the long days of being trapped. Thankfully, the young mother was pulled to safety and reunited with her family.
