Over 50 Years After JFK’s Assassination, Conspiracy Theories Still Carry Weight

The Warren Commission’s Conclusion

After the assassination, Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson assumed the position of POTUS and established the Warren Commission a week later, on November 29, 1963, to investigate. The Warren Commission arrived at the conclusion that three shots were fired during the assassination, all coming from the Texas School Book Depository and found to be from the same rifle. This all points to Lee Harvey Oswald being the only shooter in the case.

However, conspiracy theories began to take hold of the media and the public no longer knew what to believe.
