Budd Dwyer was the Treasurer of Pennsylvania in the 1980s, after serving in the Pennsylvania State Senate. On January 22, 1987, Dwyer requested a news conference in Harrisburg, and proceeded to shoot himself in front of everyone present. Prior to pulling the trigger, he announced “Please, please leave the room if this will…if this will affect you.” The photo above was taken at this time.
