Diop moved to Paris, France, when she was just 15 years old. She was approached by photographers who encouraged her to get into the world of modeling. As she later told NPR, “I was scared because I didn’t know what I was getting into. But almost everybody was telling me, why not? So I did it because I wanted to inspire girls. When I was younger I didn’t have any inspiration to like the skin I was in.”
