Actually, the two cousins’ inadvertent discovery was the largest collection of Roman denarius coins ever found. The majority of the coins were quite common as far as Roman coins go, but two of them were very rare and had never before been found in England. As of 2000, the coins were said to be worth around $426,856, a number which has probably only gone up in value as of today.
