In the middle of a severe headache, most of us will grab whatever we need to alleviate the pain, but the two most common pills have some crucial differences. Both ibuprofen and aspirin fight pain by being absorbed into the bloodstream, then going out and searching for the pain receptors in our body.
During their trip through the bloodstream, they have different adverse effects. Aspirin can cause upset stomachs and heartburn because it is rough on your stomach lining. Ibuprofen is more gentle and works best for reducing inflammation.
