These Military Wives Underwent Shocking Transformations
Misty’s Decision to Lose Weight
Misty weighed 260 pounds when her husband deployed. The North Carolina resident admits that she struggled with her weight her entire life. She dieted, dieted more, and relapsed. If you’ve ever tried to seriously be on a diet, you probably know it’s nearly impossible to not relapse at some point. How does one live without sugar and carbs? It’s one of the hardest things you can do. But Misty had to try.
Misty decided enough was enough. She told CNN the decision came suddenly. “I just sat in bed one night and was like, ‘I can do this. I need to do this,'” she said.
Misty’s Unhealthy Relationship with Food
Misty, like most of us, has more than a couple unhealthy habits that contributed to her weight gain and previous weight loss. She admits that she took diet pills and lost 60 pounds before she had her daughter Nevaeh. When she stopped taking the pills, she gained all the weight back and then more.
Misty fell into the horribly common trap of using food as a crutch. “I would eat when I was bored. I’d eat three huge meals a day, and then snack in between. Sad or happy, I’d turn to food for everything,” she told CNN.
