These Heartwarming Photos Will Make You Feel Good Again
In this world we live in, happy stories can be hard to come by. Check out this list of heartwarming photos that will fill you with joy and renew your faith in humanity!
A Cat On A Rainy Day
Everyone loves cats on the internet! This image went viral some time ago after a man left his umbrella over a cat he saw caught in the rain. It actually looks like someone even laid out a blanket to make sure the cat had a dry space to lay down.
Cats can be quite the finicky creatures so this cat could have either been someone’s pet who refused to go inside or just a stray cat someone wanted to look out for. Either way, the message remains the same. Everyone should be so thoughtful to look out for all creatures, big and small no matter what species!
Horse Hugs
This amazing photo showcases a horse appearing to embrace a young girl. Many who own or interact with horses claim to have a truly special bond with them. Some even claim that their horse truly interacts back and shows them real affection.
If this photo is any proof that most certainly is true, it truly does look as though the horse is hugging the girl. Horses are also often used in therapeutic settings, both for physical and mental therapy. For some people animals can express more and in an easier way than other humans can. There is just something about seeing an amazing animal photo!
Hurricane Helpfulness
After the horrific damage caused by Hurricane Sandy, many on the East Coast were stuck without basic things like electricity. The hurricane was said to have caused the second most monetary damage in the history of the United States. It was so devastating, that the name Sandy was retired by the World Meteorological Organization, and will never be used again for a North Atlantic hurricane.
This photo was taken after a generous shop owner set up power strips so people could start charging their phones free of charge. Many people could not let family know they were okay before this, so surely their actions were much appreciated by others. Acts of kindness, no matter how small are always amazing to see!
A Giving Bride and Groom
According to this photo set floating around the internet this Turkish bride and groom spent their wedding day serving food to refugees. They certainly seem to be dressed in their Sunday best, so to speak. What an amazing idea! On a day that is typically so self-involved, to instead give back to strangers who need it most.
There is an ongoing refugee cries throughout the world and quite often the rest of us who remain unaffected turn a blind eye. It truly speaks volumes about the character of the man and woman who decided to spend what would have been “their day” doing for others. Hopefully these two will have a beautiful marriage and live happily ever after!
Cop and Refugee
Speaking of refugees, this Danish police officer was photographed playing with a little girl who happens to be a Serbian refugee. According to the Huffington Post the heartwarming photograph was taken near a German Danish border, and the officer played a game of “guess what hand”.
The officer took his wedding ring and hid it one hand and had the girl guess which hand he had the ring. Such an innocent game when the girl has likely been through so much in her young years. It is also nice to see a positive reaction to refugees in the media, when so often people have expressed a more negative outlook.
Cop and Suicidal Man
Officer Kevin Briggs was photographed attempting to persuade Kevin Berthia to climb off the Golden Gate Bridge in 2005. Thankfully, after one hour of discussion the officer was able to talk him out of committing suicide.
Flash-forward to eight years in the future and Kevin Berthia was able to present Officer Briggs with an award for what he has done as a member of the officers referred to as the “guardians of The Golden Gate Bridge”, as many individuals have gone there with the intention of killing themselves. Kevin is now married with two children and he was able to tell Officer Briggs how thankful he was for the intervention. At the awards ceremony Kevin said, “I didn’t want him to try and stop me but now I’m glad he did. All I can say is that I am truly grateful. You gave me an opportunity to live.”
Syrian Siblings In Rubble
This heartbreaking photograph was taken relatively recently in the aftermath of one of the bombings in Syria. An older Syrian sibling was thankfully able to find his sister still alive after digging in the rubble. The way he clings to her in sheer gratitude, and how the young baby clings back to him in the same way is truly moving.
It’s important to remember the atrocities that have taken place against others in other places in the world, when we are all simply human beings trying to live. Hopefully those affected by wars, especially the children, will one day soon have peace.
Firefighter Saves Koala
Here’s another entry from the interspecies kindness. Fireman David Tree was photographed giving Sam the koala a drink of water after rescuing her from bush fires that swept through the Australian Outback. The fire was horrific and killed two hundred people. The koala Sam immediately went viral, and served as a symbol of hope for the Australian people. There is even still a video on YouTube of the heartwarming encounter.
Sadly, Sam the koala later passed away from an unrelated disease and the Prime Minister at the time even issued a statement. He said, “The symbol of hope for so many people around the world was the great picture of that wonderful koala being fed water by one of our firefighters. I think that gave the people of the world a great sense of hope that this country, Australia, could come through those fires, as we have. Sam the Koala was part of the symbolism of that, and it’s tragic that Sam the koala is no longer with us.”
Dog and Goat
Often dogs are used as work animals to herd other animals like goats or sheep. Clearly, this particular dog has made a friend and doesn’t think of this goat as merely part of the herd. It’s always beautiful to see two species who typically don’t get in a long in such a loving interaction.
These in particular even seem like they are actually hugging! While in seems like there have been other dog and goat friendships in the world this photo is especially amazing because both animals are looking straight at the camera, almost as if they are striking a pose. Don’t you wish you had pets like these?
To The Girl Who Shared The Siege
This is another remarkable photo to come out of Syria. The writing on the wall behind the couple says: To the girl who share the siege with me: I love you. The man in the photo wrote the words on the wall, before the two departed the city. Salih and Marwa spoke to Buzzfeed News. Salih is a filmmaker who stayed in the city to document and Marwa works with traumatized children.
Marwa said “We want to remember [the city].” And of the people who caused their message to go viral, “They’re very kind to [share] my message to the world.” Marwa refused to leave Salih behind even when she had the chance, because of her love for him. Salih said, “Tell the world, we are still human, not monsters, we feel and love.”
A Happy New Start
This little boy’s name is Michael Brown, and he was recently adopted after being in foster care for several years. His new adoptive sister, Dezhianna Brown, posted his photos on Twitter and they almost immediately went viral. His new family’s last name is also Brown, so Dezhianna said they knew it was meant to be.
Now, after the story took off Michael has even been interviewed by their local news stations in Arizona. This beautiful story went viral right before Christmas. It’s always wonderful to see such a heartwarming story just in time for the holiday season! Congrats Michael!
Australian Dog Saver
In Melbourne, Australia the little Maltese dog Bibi was blown off of the pier by super strong winds. Her horrified owner Sue Drummond stood by helplessly. Suddenly a stranger stripped down to his underwear and jumped into the water below.
The man’s name was Raden Soemawinata and he was on the pier with his family in order to scatter his grandmother’s ashes. Remarkably, he was able to save Bibi and give her back to her owner. This amazing photo was captured by a nearby photographer at the moment he handed the thankful doggie off to her even more grateful owner. An amazing photo with an even more amazing back story!
Homeless Dog
Here is yet another one from the animal files. There is something special about seeing someone take such good care of animal as though they were truly a member of their family. That sentiment most certainly resonates with this image of a homeless man and his pet dog.
The man makes sure to keep the dog under his blanket as well so they both stay warm. The way the dog lays his head on his owner’s chest is almost the way a child does to a parent. This is truly such a beautiful bond between man and his best friend.
Baby Miracle
This amazing photo was taken on a Miami Freeway as a woman named Pamela Roseau performed CPR on her baby nephew after he stopped breathing. Thankfully, the young baby named Sebastian, is okay. It was discovered that he had cysts in his trachea but they were removed.
Pamela was later honored by the Red Cross. Sebastian’s parents also said that he had to be born early after his other noticed he had stopped moving in her womb. She said, “They did a C-section, and thank God he was born all right,” she said. “I believe he is destined for something great because he has been given back to me twice.” What an amazing story!
Cam Newton’s Biggest Fan
Here’s one from the football files! Famed quarterback Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers is pictured here with young fan Braylon bumping chests before the game. Braylon Beam is a young Panthers super fan who has been battling brain cancer.
Ellen even brought him and his parents on to her show and surprised him with tickets to the Super Bowl. Braylon’s health has improved although he must continue to fight, and his parents have even started a foundation in his name to help other families with children who have cancer. What an amazing little boy and family! Even in their own time of need they still find the time to dedicate themselves to help others!
Basketball Cop
This photo shows Police Officer Bobby White, now also known as Basketball Cop. After getting a call where people were complaining about kids playing basketball, Officer White showed up. Instead of getting any of the kids in trouble he just played some basketball with them.
Later, he even brought a friend who turned out to be basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal. Since then basketball cop has started a foundation aiming to bring basketball goals to the community with the aim of repairing cop and citizen relationships. With the current political climate and other issues going on in the United States, it’s certainly nice to see people get together and play a game of basketball!
A Pair of Shoes
This image is so heartwarming and truly encompasses the attitude we should all take with one another. A tourist visit Rio de Janeiro in Brazil came across a homeless girl. The girl’s dress is in tatters, she has no shoes on her feet, and she also appears to be rather thin.
The man did the one thing he could in the spare of the moment, he offered her the sandals off his own feet. This beautiful moment was captured and we wish we knew what became of both the gentleman and the girl seen in this image. Hopefully both are doing well in their respective lives. This one is quite the tearjerker!
Olympic Kindness
At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, runners Abbey D’Agostino and Nikki Hamblin were caught up in a chain-reaction fall on the track which culminated with both of them injured while running the 5,000 meter event. They spoke to CBS News’ Alex Pena and described what happened, with Hamlin saying, “She chose to get me up, and bring me back to the moment”.
The kindness between the two women instantly went viral with many describing them as the true meaning of the Olympics. The two had never met before but have now vowed to keep in touch. D’Agostino said, “It’s connected us in a way that’s powerful. We live on opposite sides of world and our paths won’t cross frequently. But we will keep in touch and share our story.”
Wendy’s Employee Helps Man
After someone shared this photo on Facebook, the heartwarming kindness quickly went viral. A young Wendy’s employee removed the umbrella from an outside table in order to walk an elderly man to his car in the rain.
It’s well known that most fast food employees do not make much money at all so it’s clear this young man was motivated from his heart rather than his pocketbook. This is most certainly one of those instances that renews your faith in humanity. We should all be a little more loving with one another, which is easy to do with one simple act of kindness at a time.
A Lion Rescue
This photo was not simply a man coming across a lion and miraculously embracing but rather these two have quite a history. Valentin Guener is an animal conservationist and Sirga the lion was abandoned when she was only a few days old.
Valentin rescued her and raised the lion, even sleeping next to one another for the first eight months of her life. This photo was captured after the two were reunited and Sirga literally lept into Valentin’s arms. She obviously remembers him, and the two share such an amazing bond! What a beautiful example of kindness between different species on this earth.
