Doug and Carrie Heffernan were a working-class couple living in Queens with Carrie’s eccentric father, Arthur Spooner. During the run of The King Of Queens, the show brought in solid ratings, especially since it aired on Monday nights and competed with 7th Heaven.

The King of Queens was partly inspired by The Honeymooners as both Doug and Carrie were based off the Kramden couple from the classic fifties sitcom. The show continues to be in syndication, but for Kevin James and Leah Remini, the two have since paired up on the small screen for Kevin Can Wait.
