It feels like yesterday we were playing with our Pokemon cards and ripping up Mario Kart on Nintendo 64. Now, here we are, 20 years later, and kids own iPads and phones while playing video games on their Xbox One or PS4. But remember what life was like in 1998? Remember all of the interesting events that went on during that year?

Before the turn of the millennium, we said goodbye to a popular jazz vocalist and a show about nothing. Some TV shows got their debut on the small screen, with one of them returning to TV today. And who could forget about the most reliable search engine was founded the same year Bill Gates faced lawsuits.These moments will definitely hit the nostalgic feels while making anyone feel seriously old.

I Didn’t Have Sexual Relations With That Woman

President Clinton spoke at a White House press conference and issued a forceful denial about having any sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky. Hillary Clinton stood by her husband throughout the scandal while President Clinton denied the affair.

For the next several months, the media debated whether or not an affair had occurred and if Clinton had lied or obstructed justice. Lewinsky was unwilling to discuss the affair, but on August 17, 1998, in a nationally televised statement, Clinton admitted in a taped grand jury testimony that he had an “improper physical relationship” with Lewinsky.
