The Tragic Case Of Caylee Anthony’s Murder

Casey’s Car Emits a Strange Odor

On July 15, 2008, 31 days after Casey left home with Caylee, Cindy and George were doing yard work at their home when they spotted a note on their front door. They were instructed to pick up a certified letter from the post office where they learned that their daughter Casey’s car had wound up in a tow yard.

Unfortunately, this case was only going to get worse in the days to come.

While this fact in and of itself seemed completely bizarre, especially because Casey Anthony seemed to have given no warning to her unsuspecting parents, the situation was about to get even worse. When George went to pick up the car, the attendant at the tow yard noticed a strong smell emanating from the vehicle’s trunk. The odor was so distinct, they believed it smelled like a decomposing body. So they opened it up. It is also noteworthy that George Anthony is a former police officer, and if anyone would be certified to detect the smell of a decomposing body it would be a police officer.
