Casey’s Trial Attorney Says Casey “Blacked Out” Caylee’s Death

In July 2017, one of Casey Anthony’s trial attorneys, Cheney Mason, said Casey had a mental “blackout” during the six-week trial. In an hour-long interview with LawNewz, he said Casey “blocked out parts of her own life surrounding her daughter’s death.” He added that during the trial, Casey didn’t “go crazy” but that she “snapped.” He also claimed that Casey didn’t fully grasp that her daughter had been killed until she was on trial for her murder. Mason reiterated that Casey loved Caylee and maintained her innocence saying Casey “knows she did not do this.”
