It’s no secret by now that these two lived in a very rural and small town. A town so small that everyone seemed to know each other. The Welch community consisted of only 600 people and years later everyone still chatters about that terrible night.

Living in a city where everyone knows one another can be a gift and curse. In this case, it is more of a gift because at least as a parent you know everyone is almost an extension of you. They would be on the look out for each other, and any suspicious activity. Of course, if anyone knows who did it and has ties with them, they might not come clean and confess in fear of something happening but to those who have no attachment to the culprit, you can consider them caught.
