News Producers Became Embroiled In A Racist Name Prank
Investigative producer Roland DeWolk, special projects producer Cristina Gastelu and producer Brad Belstock were fired from Bay Area news station KTVU in 2013 after a racist prank was aired on live television. The trio was responsible for four fake names of the pilots who were involved in the Asiana Flight 214 crash at San Francisco International Airport on July 6. When news anchor Tori Campbell was delivering the news about the Asiana Airlines flight, she thought the information was correct and called the pilots Capt. Sum Ting Wong, Wi Tu Lo, Ho Lee Fuk and Bang Ding Ow.
