ESPN Anchor Called President Trump A White Supremacist
In September 2017, anchor Jemele Hill, an anchor of ESPN’s “SC6” program, called President Trump “a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists” on Twitter. Hill, who is black, added: “His rise is a direct result of white supremacy. Period.” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders urged the network to fire Hill in response to his tirade. ESPN said in response: “The comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the President do not represent the position of ESPN. We have addressed this with Jemele and she recognizes her actions were inappropriate.”
