Jason has said that he thinks that the idea of Elizabeth going willingly is “amazingly absurd”. Regardless of if the young girl thought she was in love, Tad had other deeply insidious motives at play. Tad was a fifty-year-old man who took advantage of a fifteen-year-old girl. That in and of itself says enough about the situation. “This is classic grooming and manipulation,” Whatley said. “And I predict this case will be studied years in the future about how authority figures like Tad Cummins can mess up young children who believe their lies and are manipulated into doing things they would never do.”
