According to investigative reports, Elizabeth would turn to Cummins when she had to deal with feelings. “She goes to Cummin’s classroom when she becomes upset or anxious,” said the report. She considers him a friend and he knows how to calm her down. Other students feel the same about him. She has been to church with him and his wife. It seems as though Tad set himself up as a central figure for the kids at the high school he worked at. Certainly, had it not been Elizabeth, he probably would have attempted to have a relationship with some other young student.
