Remembering Princess Diana: The People’s Princess
The Scene Of The Accident
Diana was alive initially and was said to have uttered the words, “Oh my God, what happened?” At the time, there was a media whirlwind concerning the paparazzi, which were apparently chasing Diana at the time of the crash. They were also among the first on the scene of the crash.
Allegedly, some of the photographers rushed to help the victims, while others remained in their profession and took photographs. There was later a French judicial investigation which found the accident’s blame lay on the driver Henri, he was said to have been driving too fast and also was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Attempts To Save Her
Diana was still initially alive at the scene of the accident. Paparazzi were the first on the scene, and those who first saw her stated that she was bleeding from the nose and ears. One photographer even alleged that he tried to remove her from the vehicle but her feet were stuck.
He claims that he said to her that help was coming soon and to stay awake and she only blinked in response. Dr. Mailliez was the first physician to see Diana, and he happened to be driving by the scene of the accident. He did not know she was Princess Diana at the time.
