Natalee Holloway was a high school senior in 2005. Her parents were David and Beth Holloway, and she had one younger brother named Matt. Her parents had divorced when she was still quite young, so she ended up being raised primarily by her mother and her stepfather, whom Beth married in 2000.

They lived in Mountain Brook, Alabama, where Natalee completed her high school years at Mountain Brook High School. She was well liked and popular in high school, and also a member of the National Honor society and the school dance team. Natalee had already made big plans for her future.
