Interestingly enough, there is a theory out there that claims H.H. Holmes is actually the true identity of another infamous serial killer in history: Jack the Ripper. The theory is strongly supported by Jeff Mudgett, who is the great-great-grandson of H.H. Holmes. While it seems far-fetched, ask yourself, could it be?

Mudgett said that he inherited from his grandfather two diaries that contain rambling entries from none other than H.H. Holmes himself. Mudgett had the diaries examined by a handwriting analysis expert who said that they were indeed written by Holmes. The diaries are said to have detailed some of Holmes’s murders and even his escape from prison and fake execution. While this seems terrifically interesting, how could Holmes have possibly been able to make his way all the way to London to commit the Jack the Ripper murders. Although, it is interesting that both Jack the Ripper and H.H. Holmes are known to have medical training.
