David Copperfield was named by Forbes as the most commercially successful magician in history.

In March 1982, he founded Project Magic, a rehabilitation program to help disabled patients regain lost or damaged dexterity skills by using sleight-of-hand magic as a method of physical therapy. This accredited program is being used in over 1100 hospitals worldwide.
