This Ancient Roman prison has its place in history as one of the worst. The prison was brutal to its prisoners and would torture every one of them. It’s said that St. Peter and St. Paul were held here and tortured by Emperor Nero.

The prison was two floors of underground cells. If you ended up dying from either disease or starvation your body would get picked up by the guards and thrown into the Roman sewer system.
