One of the most polluted sites on earth, the Ganges River is contaminated with everything from raw sewage to human bodies. And we can’t piece together why these poor souls are just sitting in that filth like they are taking a bath in it.

This probably isn’t the most disgusting place on this list but it certainly has to be in the top five. Dead bodies mixed with sewage is down right gross on too many levels to count. You could easily become diseased just by stepping foot in this river. Is this truly a river or a pathway to the underworld?
