The morning after Halloween in 1977, 19-month-old Nima Louise Carter from Lawton, Oklahoma went missing from her home. Since the windows in Nima’s bedroom were locked, it’s thought that her abductor had been hiding in the closet and sneaked the child out of the house while her parents were sleeping in the living room. A month later, a group of kids playing in an abandoned house four blocks away from the Carter home, found Nima’s decomposed body in a refrigerator. She died of suffocation. Jacqueline Roubideaux, a babysitter for Nima was a suspect, but there was no evidence to implicate her.
