Sarah Parcak is a professor, archeologist, and Egyptologist from Bangor, Maine. She obtained her Ph.D. from The University of Cambridge just like Stephen Hawking. Apparently, while Hawking was visiting his Alma Mater, he and Parcak almost literally collided. Luckily, they both escaped unscathed.
Hawking lived for 15 years after this incident, and 53 years after he was expected to die when first diagnosed with ALS in 1963. This man has evaded death at least twice. We are thankful for the extra years and for all that he contributed to science while he was with us.
