Many passengers didn’t have their seatbelts on when an Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Bangkok experienced severe turbulence in May of 2017. Pilots said they hit an “air hole” when the plane violently shook as passengers were thrown across the cabin, hit their heads on the ceiling, and food and supplies were thrown across the plane. A statement was given by the Russian Embassy in Bangkok that said, “All victims were taken to a local hospital with various injuries, mostlyfractures and bruises. Some require surgery. Fifteen people remain hospitalized.” Passengers recall blood on the ceiling, injured babies, broken noses and facial injuries. Remarkably, the plane was able to land safely.
