While filming Stand By Me at the ripe old age of 14, Feldman started drinking alcohol and smoking pot with River Phoenix. This dabbling turned into a full-blown addiction. His drugs of choice were cocaine, heroin, and sex. In 1990, he was charged with possession of cocaine and heroin. Then after two more drug arrests, he entered rehab in 1991 and stayed for ten months.
