George McPhee is going to win the NHL’s GM of the Year award for his work with Las Vegas. Oddly enough, his road to the Stanley Cup Finals began with the Washington Capitals. In 1994, McPhee was hired to be the Capital’s general manager. He held the position until April 2014.
