NFL Win/Loss Predictions For 2022 Season
NFL fans feel like they have waited forever for the 2022 NFL season. 2021 saw the Los Angeles Rams take home the Vince Lombardi trophy; now, it's time to see which team will celebrate this year.
With every team making moves towards a chance at the 2022 Super Bowl, it's time to learn about their win/loss predictions and who has a chance of taking home the coveted trophy.
Arizona Cardinals
Now that Kyler Murray signed his new $230.5 million contract, the Arizona Cardinals want to look ahead to the 2022 season.
A controversial clause in Murray's contract called for more film study time until it was removed. Arizona will battle the defending champion Los Angeles Rams for the division and finish 10-7.
Atlanta Falcons
After a 7-10 record in the 2021 NFL season, the Atlanta Falcons know there is plenty of room for improvement. Atlanta has a promising group of veteran/young running backs.
The Falcons' rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder needs some time to learn. Atlanta will struggle more this season and finish 4-13.
Baltimore Ravens
Injuries have hit the Baltimore Ravens in the preseason harder than a Ray Lewis sack. With three wide receivers already nursing injuries, three more prospects were hurt.
Now Ravens' head coach John Harbaugh is left with scraps to surround star quarterback LaMar Jackson. Baltimore will lose plenty, finishing 8-9.
Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are the favorites to win the Super Bowl during the 2022 season. Buffalo came within seconds last postseason from the Conference Finals with a last-second overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
QB Josh Allen and Buffalo will finish the season 14-3 and win Super Bowl LVII.
Carolina Panthers
When you finish last season with a 5-12 record like the Carolina Panthers did, almost anything would be an improvement.
Carolina brought in Baker Mayfield from the Cleveland Browns to be the starting QB. The Panthers have young talent defensively but will end the season with a 6-11 record.
Chicago Bears
There is optimism for the Chicago Bears in the upcoming 2022 NFL season. Any team that shares a division with the Detroit Lions is guaranteed to do better than them.
QB Justin Fields is in his second season and has shown improvements this preseason. The Bears will be 8-9.
Cincinnati Bengals
Nothing for the Cincinnati Bengals other than a return to the Super Bowl will be acceptable.
The Bengals magical run led by QB Joe Burrow came up short when they lost last year's Super Bowl to the Los Angeles Rams. Cincinnati misses the Super Bowl and ends up 10-7.
Cleveland Browns
Franchise quarterback Baker Mayfield was pushed out of town when the Cleveland Browns signed Deshaun Watson in the off-season with a $300 million guaranteed contract.
Watson is suspended for 11 games in 2022 over legal issues. Cleveland has definitely suffered without Watson on the field, missing the playoffs at 5-12.
Dallas Cowboys
"How bout them Cowboys?" is uttered after every season by Dallas Cowboys fans. Every season is the Cowboys' year to win the Super Bowl.
Dallas botched their 2021 playoff game and are still wondering how. QB Dak Prescott leads the Cowboys to the playoffs and an 11-6 record.
Denver Broncos
Let the Russell Wilson era begin for the Denver Broncos. The star QB signed in the offseason with Denver after nine seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
Wilson's championship pedigree with Seattle will not likely be enough in a competitive AFC West division. Denver will be 9-8 this season.
Detroit Lions
If the Detroit Lions' 2022 NFL season looks as fun as their trending online posts, then their fans are the winners.
Detroit and fiery Head coach Dan Campbell once again will be hard pressed to make the playoffs. Chicago's improvement banishes Detroit to last in the division at 4-13.
Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers lost their favorite target Davante Adams in a trade to the Las Vegas Raiders in the offseason.
The Packers have no real threat preventing them from repeating as division champs. Green Bay will have a 14-3 record before making another playoff run.
Houston Texans
Despite unloading QB Deshaun Watson and his legal struggles, the Houston Texans' 2022 NFL season will not be a good one.
Houston was 4-13 last season without Watson and will be looking to tryout players rather than winning games. Houston's destined for last place in the division at 4-13.
Indianapolis Colts
Carson Wentz played only one season at QB for the Indianapolis Colts before departing for the Washington Commanders this offseason.
Indianapolis signed Matt Ryan to replace Wentz in an offseason trade. The Colts automatically made themselves better because Ryan rarely turns over the ball. Indianapolis finishes at 10-7.
Jacksonville Jaguars
2021 could not have been much worse of a season for the Jacksonville Jaguars on/off the field.
Jacksonville's former Head coach Urban Meyer's antics finally cost him his job last season, but the team still lacks competitive talent. Jacksonville will solely be the NFL cellar-dwellers with a 3-14 season.
Kansas City Chiefs
For the Kansas City Chiefs, every season is Super Bowl or bust. The Chiefs feel they have that opportunity again this season.
Kansas City traded one of the NFL's best receivers and QB Patrick Mahomes' favorite targets in Tyreek Hill, to Miami. Kansas City will finish at 13-4.
Las Vegas Raiders
Last season's off-field issues and controversy almost derailed the 2021 NFL season for the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Raiders quietly competed with Kansas City for the division title and made the playoffs with a 10-7 record. Vegas and hopefully a healthy Derek Carr at quarterback will wind up 11-6.
Los Angeles Chargers
Kansas City and Las Vegas will battle for the division lead, leaving the Los Angeles Chargers to fight for third place again this season.
QB Justin Herbert is seeking a fresh start this season, and the Chargers defense boasts three promising rushing linemen. The Chargers marginally improve to 10-7.
Los Angeles Rams
Fresh off of winning the 2021 Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Rams seek a rare repeat as Super Bowl champions.
No team has won back-to-back Super Bowls since the New England Patriots won in 2004 and again in 2005. The Rams' season ends with a 13-4 record, making them contenders.
Miami Dolphins
Expectations will be much higher for the Miami Dolphins in the upcoming 2022 NFL season. Miami acquired "The Cheetah" Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs in the offseason.
Hill's speed and an improving Tua Tagovailoa at QB get Miami to the playoffs with a 10-7 regular season record.
Minnesota Vikings
As long as Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback for Green Bay, the Minnesota Vikings will finish no higher than second in their division.
Thankfully for Minnesota, Chicago and Detroit are in their division. Starting QB Kirk Cousins has not had much playoff success in Minnesota and will finish 7-10.
New England Patriots
Bill Belichick is one of the NFL's greatest and winningest coaches of all time. He has brought the New England Patriots franchise six Super Bowl wins, so people never count them out of the running.
Second-year quarterback Mac Jones is looking to repeat his strong rookie season. New England finishes at 10-7.
New Orleans Saints
Tom Brady is in the same division with the New Orleans Saints. Brady's return this season makes the Bucs contenders and reserves second in the division for the Saints.
New Orleans will cause problems for Tampa Bay but will not beat them. The Saints have a respectable 9-8 record.
New York Giants
Where to begin with the problems facing the New York Giants? Giants' new Head coach Brian Daboll has two quarterbacks competing to be starters and even more questions on both sides of the ball.
A terrible NFC East division still has the Giants at the bottom finishing at 5-12.
New York Jets
Improving from a dreadful 4-13 might happen slightly in 2022 for the New York Jets. Buffalo is coming back strong, the Patriots are back contending, and Miami's on the rise.
QB Zach Wilson returns as a starter with veteran Joe Flacco waiting close by. The Jets 2022 at 5-12.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles play in one of the toughest professional sports markets in North America. Eagles fans have quickly forgotten the team's 2017 Super Bowl victory, waiting to see what they will do this upcoming season.
The NFC East is not the best, which means the playoffs are always possible for Philadelphia. The Eagles take the division ending up with an 11-6 record.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving on from having Ben Roethlisberger as quarterback for the first time since 2003.
Steelers' Head coach Mike Tomlin now has to toggle between Mitch Trubisky, who's been disappointing, and rookie Kenny Pickett, selected in the first round. Pittsburgh will struggle to a 7-10 record.
San Francisco 49ers
Various questions and drama surround the future of the San Francisco 49ers team. San Fran's star wide receiver Deebo Samuels is feuding with the team, and they have not traded quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, despite the public rumors.
The impending circus and quarterback uncertainty wound up resulting in an 8-9 record.
Seattle Seahawks
Huge questions about the offense of the Seattle Seahawks will haunt them all season. After trading quarterback Russell Wilson, who will replace him?
Seattle is still loaded at the wide receiver position. Quarterbacks Drew Lock and NFL bust Geno Smith will compete for playing time. Seattle finishes 5-12.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
TB12 is back. Quarterback Tom Brady has returned to training camp for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Brady's favorite target tight end, Rob Gronkowski, is gone, and receiver Chris Godwin is injured, forcing more of a running game. Brady's offense and a great Bucs defense make the playoffs at 12-5.
Tennessee Titans
At one point last season, the Tennessee Titans owned the NFL's best record. Running back, Derrick Henry steamrolled defenses until his injury sidelined him.
Tennessee went 6-3 without Henry, but a trade and injury have the Titans down two major receivers. Tennessee misses the playoffs and finishes 8-9.
Washington Commanders
Unless the Washington Commanders can recapture their defensive prowess from two seasons ago, they will not see the playoffs this year.
Star linebacker Chase Young is still recovering from a devastating injury, and turnover-prone Carson Wentz has arrived as the quarterback. Washington's questionable offense leaves them finishing at 9-8.
