In December 2010, Putin astounded the Russian public by singing Fats Domino’s “Blue Hill” at a charity event in St Petersburg. If that wasn’t surprising enough, he also went on to play the Soviet-era tune “From Where The Motherland Begins” on the piano, although he figured that he should call it quits after missing a few notes. This was yet another tactic for him to win the hearts of the people of Russia. Although the event took place in St Petersburg there were other celebrities there such as Kevin Costner, Gerard Depardieu, and Sharon Stone.
