Times Activists Made Their Voices Heard in 2016

Love Trumps Hate

“Love Trumps Hate” began as a slogan for Hilary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and continued after Donald Trump was elected. The slogan is the central theme to rallies that have been held around the nation that protest Trump’s speeches and tweets that have been interpreted as hateful and divisive towards racial minorities, immigrants, LGBT, and women, among other communities.

Protesters have held rallies at Purdue, Vermont, Kansas City, Boston, ULCA, and many other locations. Many of rallies have brought together thousands of people committed to the cause. Violence and hate crimes have increased against the communities previously mentioned since Trump was named the President-Elect and the “Love Trumps Hate” protests continue, aiming at shutting down discrimination.
