A Polarized Population

The results from the referendum came back incredibly divided, with the vote to leave receiving 52% of the votes. The process for the formal departure will begin in March of 2017 and be completed two years later, in March of 2019. However, the government is required to hold a parliamentary debate and vote before Article 50 is activated, which starts the process.

The results sparked further protests, as those who voted to stay in the EU were outraged, and took to the streets of London to protest. Many posted up outside of parliament to show their opposition to leaving the EU.
