She endorsed George W. Bush in 2004 and is a registered Republican, however, she has commented on Michelle Obama very positively by saying that she wants to be like the first lady. “I truly do,” Simpson told People magazine in May 2010 before the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C. “She’s such an incredible woman, and she’s with such a powerful man.”
