Being quarantined is no easy matter. It’s hard to figure out what to do during the day to keep busy, and routines are all but lost. While some people are finding peace in at-home workouts, others are participating in various internet challenges. Celebrities such as Harry Styles and Shawn Mendes are even teaching themselves new skills.
We almost forget that while the world is in quarantine, so are the celebrities who we’re used to seeing on television, on stage, and in films. But, just like us normal folk, they are also in self-isolation. Keep scrolling to learn what some of your favorite stars are doing to stay busy.
Matthew McConaughey Is Giving His Home State A PSA
Matthew McConaughey took his role as Austin, Texas’, “Minister of Culture” to relay a very important message to the city’s residents. In early April, the actor joined Mayor Steve Adler and Judge Sarah Eckhart to deliver a public service announcement. Mostly, he wanted to deter students from going on spring break this year.
To all of the teens and college students, McConaughey said, “I’m sorry you have these responsibilities on you at this time. It’s an unprecedented time in all our lives, but face the facts that they’re here. This is a science-fiction film no more. It’s reality, man. Deal with it.”
Kylie Jenner Traded Her Hip-Hugging Outfits For Sweats
As we are stuck in quarantine, many people have taken it upon themselves to let loose. That means no more jeans, blouses, shoes, makeup, and tweezers have all but become a thing of the past. But “normal people” aren’t the only ones lounging around nowadays.
Kylie Jenner has taken this time to trade in her designer hip-hugging outfits for more casual streetwear, such as an over-sized hoodie and yoga pants. But it is Kylie, so of course, she paired the outfit with vintage sneakers and flawless makeup and hair. Hey, self-isolation is all about baby steps.
Selena Gomez Is Sharing Some Of Her “Favorites:”
Then there’s Selena Gomez. Unlike Kylie, Selena went all in for her quarantine look. She opted for her naturally curly hair, no makeup, and a sweatsuit that looks like it’s been a favorite lazy-day ensemble for quite some time. But that’s not the only favorite thing Selena is sharing with people during this period.
The actress and singer has also shared via social media some of her favorite movies, books, and music, in the hopes to give fans something to do during self-isolation. In case you like the actress but none of her recommendations, take a peek at her and Miley Cyrus’ Instagram Live chat! You won’t be disappointed.
Justin And Hailey Bieber Pretended Their Floor Was Lava
Justin and Hailey Bieber are doing something a little out of the ordinary during their quarantine. The power couple decided to hop back to simpler times, literally. They took fans back to the days of childhood games when they pretended the floor was lava.
Now, considering the size of their home, Justin and Hailey made quite the obstacle course! While his lovely wife was filming, Justin jumped around on their couches, pillows, chairs, and even caught a ride on his skateboard to avoid touching the floor! If you want to see their fun antics for yourself, check out the Biebs’ Instagram. Oh, and he’s wearing a onesie!
Ed Sheeran Is Gardening
A lot of us are taking this self-isolation period to catch up on various home improvement projects. While some people are putting up new pictures, others are cleaning or even rearranging their furniture. Some celebrities, like “Shape of You” singer Ed Sheeran, have decided to do something else with their time.
Sheeran has decided to take this time to work on his garden. Honestly, it’s not a bad way to spend your days, considering we’re not supposed to be near people. At least Sheeran can be close to nature and outside instead of staying cooped up in his house all day.
Joe Jonas Is Cooking And Having Virtual Trivia Nights
Many of us are not used to being isolated away from friends and family, especially when the weekend rolls around and we realize we’re stuck at home. Thankfully, we have technology to help us through this hard time. Take Joe Jonas, for example. He’s not letting a little quarantine take away his family time.

After she wakes up and walks her dog, Jenner has been getting into the art of tie-dying and painting! It’s going to be fun to see Jenner walking around in a bunch of tie-dyed clothing once the self-isolation is lifted. But if you want to keep up with this Jenner, she’s been on IG Live filming herself playing Mario Kart, too.
Daniel Radcliffe Has Been Building Legos
With the state of the world right now, there is no fault in doing activities that give you immense joy while also taking up a lot of your time. Try doing every recipe in the Tasty cookbook, or maybe learn how to knit. Or, do what Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is doing and play with some Legos!

Lea Michele Is Sticking To A Routine
It’s been getting drastically more difficult to stick to a solid routine while in quarantine. When you really aren’t supposed to leave your home except for essentials, things to do become a bit more limited. Take it from Glee star Lea Michele, though, if you’re able to stick to a daily routine, you’ll be better for it.
During one of Michele’s weekly “Wellness Wednesday” Instagram stories, she revealed her routine to fans. The actress starts her day with a smoothie, then will go do a workout in the fresh air, meditate for 15 minutes, hop on a FaceTime call with family, and then watch some Netflix before bed.

While in quarantine, it feels as though we have nothing but time on our hands. So, what better way to spend the days than learning something new? With technology at our disposal, it’s easy to learn some new workouts, read up on a new topic, or even learn how to do some DIY projects.

Gavin Leatherwood Is Learning The Art Of Makeup
One thing a lot of people agree on is that folks are going to come out of self-isolation either master makeup artists from all of the tutorials they watched, or in desperate need of some TLC. For The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Gavin Leatherwood, it looks like he’ll be grouped in with the former.
In a very comical Youtube video, Leatherwood can be seen applying makeup to his sister. And, from the looks of it, he isn’t doing too bad of a job! We’ll be interested to know if he moves onto hairstyling next.
Joey And Hunter King Have Each Day Themed
Self-isolation means making sure to keep your life as interesting as possible. Days can start to be redundant and boring, so it’s important to keep yourself on your toes even if that means scheduling each day out with a themed outfit.

If you’re like us, then you’ve definitely binge-watched the High School Musical movies on Disney+ while in quarantine. There’s nothing quite like a feel-good musical starring Zac Efron to lift your spirits. That being said, the internet so wasn’t ready for what Ashley Tisdale conjured up while in quarantine.
The actress took it upon herself to bring us a blast from the past, singing “We’re All In This Together” while doing the legendary dance via TikTok. That’s not even the best part; more stars jumped on the bandwagon, making it a challenge of sorts.
Lili Reinhart Binge-Watched Riverdale
Nothing says quarantine quite like binge-watching some old television shows. With all of the streaming platforms available, it is almost impossible not to gravitate to the screen to escape the real world for a little while. And, let’s be honest, most of us are all too willing to escape for a bit nowadays.
Well, actress Lili Reinhart did just that. She decided to binge-watch early episodes of her hit television series Riverdale. We wonder if the actress finds it weird watching herself on screen. We’re gathering it’s a no since she watched more than a few episodes.

It looks as though Harry Styles, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes aren’t the only celebrities trying to utilize their time in self-isolation to learn new things. The actress is actually using her time in quarantine to teach herself how to wink! That’s right; the beautiful redhead is insistent on learning how to wink before the self-isolation period is lifted. So, if you could use a good chuckle, head on over to her Instagram to watch a video of her attempting to wink.

Miley Cyrus, for example, has been hosting an Instagram Live show called “Bright Minded,” where she invites various celebrities to come and chat with her via video chat. Some of her guests have included former Disney Channel stars Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. The basis of the show is how to stay “bright minded in dark times.” Be sure to tune in!
