While Bill Gates is credited with standardizing personal computers throughout the 1990s, it can be argued that Steve Jobs was onto this years earlier. Steve Jobs is widely thought of as the pioneer of the computer and technology boom in the late 1970s and 1980s. At just 20-years-old, Jobs and his partner, Steve Wozniak, set up shop in Jobs’ parents’ garage using just over $1,300 to create the Apple I, a small computer with color graphics and a keyboard. Their invention was a success in the late ’70s and set the precedent for personal computers.
