Einstein Was A Silly Genius

alteredhistory-20.jpg

This iconic photo of Einstein was taken on his 72nd birthday by photographer Arther Sasse. On March 14, 1951, Einstein was returning home from an event held in his honor at Princeton. There was a crowd of photographers trying to snap a shot of Einstein as he made his way to his car, but Sasse patiently waited until the crowd dispersed. When they did, he approached the car and asked Einstein to smile. But Einstein, the genius that he is, thought that Sasse wouldn’t be quick enough and instead stuck out his tongue and quickly turned away. Although Einstein was trying to ruin the shot, he ended up giving Sasse one of his most popular photos of all time.
