How Canada Responded To World War II

alteredhistory-16.jpg

This picture depicts two young boys in Montreal during World War II in 1942. Women were put at the head of households and were encouraged to save and salvage whatever they could whenever they needed supplies. Of course, their children were both scared and excited by the turn of war, eager to help out in whatever way they can. These two young boys were photographed in the Rosemont neighborhood of Montreal salvaging rubber. Canada participated in the war by supplying munitions and it was also a site at which many air pilots were trained through the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan.
