Over 50 Years After JFK’s Assassination, Conspiracy Theories Still Carry Weight
Congress Passes The JFK Records Act In 1992
In 1992, the U.S. Congress passed the JFK Assassination Records Collection Act. This declassified 98% of the documents from the Warren Commission’s investigation and made them accessible to the media and public. However, even after the release of the documents, the beliefs of the American population still remained skeptical of the Warren Commission’s conclusion, but nothing monumental came of the new release of documentation and evidence and the speculation of conspiracy theories continued.
Even with the declassified documents, Americans wanted more answers.
