Over 50 Years After JFK’s Assassination, Conspiracy Theories Still Carry Weight
Oswald’s Widow Says He Meant to Kill Connally
After he was shot and killed by Jack Ruby, Lee Harvey Oswald’s widow Marina gave testimony in court. She was questioned by J. Lee Rankin, the General Counsel of the Warren Commission. Mrs. Oswald explained that her late husband had contact Governor Connally while they were living in Russia. He was the Secretary of the Navy at the time, and Oswald had wanted his discharge from the military switched back to ‘honorable’, noting that it was changed after the government learned the couple left for Russia. As her testimony continued, it became evident that Marina Oswald believed her late husband was targeting Connally, not Kennedy.
