Just a couple of years into his term as a member of the House, JFK began making his next move, campaigning to become a Senator. Again with the financial backing from his father, and support of his younger brother Robert Kennedy, JFK was elected in 1953 and reelected in 1958. As his political career picked up momentum, the sky was the limit. The young politician’s popularity grew as people held on to his message of strength and resiliency against communism, and trusted his judgment and instincts to protect the country. JFK threw his hat in the race for President in 1960.
