New San Diego Restaurants To Look For In 2017

There are many luxuries that go along with living in San Diego. One of the best perks is that the weather is nice year-round, so you have the opportunity to enjoy a nice meal either before or after a visit to the beach. Luckily for you, 2017 is bringing San Diego a strong list of brand new restaurants to look forward to.

Of these new restaurants is an ultimate eatery that was designed for an evening of excitement. Punch Bowl Social comes packed with arcade games, a bowling alley, a bar, and bowls filled with adult-friendly thirst quenchers. And on top of that, Hugh Acheson just signed on to be a culinary partner for this establishment so expect top-quality foods. If you don’t know who Acheson is he just a Top Chef judge, no big deal.

Punch Bowl Social is slated to open in fall 2017 and will be located in Makers Quarter which is not far from Gaslamp. Seems like a perfect date night location!

Another eatery that is highly anticipated is Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. The San Diego location is coming early in 2017 to Barrio Logan, which is only minutes from downtown. The thought of having a Roscoe’s outside of Los Angeles County is why this new location has many San Diegans’ mouths watering.

The classic soul-food chain restaurant, based out of Long Beach, is extending their reach after 42 years of success in the Los Angeles area. That means no more mini road trips just to stuff your face with those signature waffles.

Truth be told, you haven’t stuffed you face until you’ve done so with pizza. That’s right, a new pizza restaurant called Pizza Republic is coming in summer 2017.

It is coming to North Park and if its affiliate restaurant, Breakfast Republic, is any indication on how successful and delicious they will be then the future looks bright for Pizza Republic. The restaurant will serve fresh-made pasta and house-cured meats. The Neapolitan-style pizza is sure to be a hit in the North Park area.

We know pizza is great decadence, but what’s living near the water if you don’t have you fill of seafood? This is why a new seafood restaurant is coming to Pacific Beach soon. The owners have already dubbed it a “social seafood experience” so it seems that they are already betting on it doing well with future customers.

This restaurant will be called Waterbar and the interior will consist of floor-to-ceiling windows. On the menu, you can expect to see shellfish from the west, east, and Baja too. Other locally-caught items will be featured as well. Waterbar is set to open in March in the same location where Joe’s Crab Shack used to sit.

Another future restaurant worthy of a mention is STK. With several domestic and international locations already, San Diego is going to be a new home for the fancy steakhouse early in 2017. STK blends steakhouse and chic lounge for an amazing experience. It will be opened in the Gaslamp area.
