Gorgonzola, more commonly known as blue cheese, is either loved or hated, likely because the primary bacteria used in it is Brevibacterium linens. This bacteria gives the cheese its distinct smell, but it also is the same bacteria that causes foot odor and foot fungus. So if you think that blue cheese smells like feet, you’re actually spot on.
