This is just a way to quickly ruin all your hard work if you count calories. A 2011 study out of Tuff’s University found that 20% of foods they tested from restaurants had, on average, 100 calories or more than what was claimed on the menu.

While counting calories has come under fire for being a flawed system of understanding your body’s food requirements, it is still commonly used by many as a baseline when ordering out. If you are strict about it, be sure to allow for an extra 100 calories when eating out just in case.
