Balloons are often forgotten about once they fly away or they lose all their air. But now, you can enjoy a whole balloon for what it is at the Alinea Restaurant in Chicago. Chef Grant Achatz has created the edible balloon, meaning the balloon itself and it’s candy string are completely edible.

Achatz makes a sugar concoction that he fills with helium like a balloon and then attached a dehydrated apple string. People who enjoy the dessert first suck out the helium and then are able to enjoy the sugary remains after they have fun talking in their altered voices.
