The Name is Lyle, Homer Lyle

Fifteen years after the final episode of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C., Jim Nabors parodied his Gomer Pyle character for the 1984 film, Cannonball Run 2. In the movie, which included the final appearance of the Rat Pack, he was known as Private Homer Lyle. Cannonball Run 2 grossed only $28 million at the box office, which was less than half of what the first Cannonball Run earned.
