Here Are The Biggest Winners At The 2019 Emmy Awards
The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards took place on September 22nd. The show took the time to say goodbye to some of TV's biggest shows that ended this year and some of the newcomers took home some major awards.
Game of Thrones won two awards during the ceremony. Peter Dinklage won for outstanding supporting actor, making it a record-breaking 4 awards in this category held by the actor. The show itself won outstanding drama series, the biggest award of the night.
Fleabag won the most awards of the night, winning four of its six nominations. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator and star of the show, won outstanding lead actress in a comedy, outstanding comedy series, and best writing. Harry Bradbeer won the prize for best director for a comedy series for his work on the show.
In the limited series categories, Chernobyl dominated as it won outstanding limited series, best directing, and best writing.
Saturday Night Live won outstanding variety sketch series, marking its 73rd Emmy win. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel took home two awards, one for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series and outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series.
