In 2014, the real Dunphy house often seen on Modern Family was sold for a cool $2.15 million dollars. When we’re first introduced to the family, Claire is a stay at home mother, while Phil does make quite good money as a real-estate agent, but enough to warrant the $10,000 a month mortgage they would have to pay in the real world? Absolutely not. For a hit show that has so many elements of realism, it’s a shame writers couldn’t have given the Dunphys a slightly more modest home to make it that much more genuine.
