These Female Icons Are Dominating TV Screens Once Again
Now: Elisabeth Moss Is Fighting The Patriarchy In A Dystopian Future
Elisabeth Moss took a break from American television, but in 2017, she came back stronger than ever and won two Primetime Emmys for her role in The Handmaid’s Tale. Moss plays Offred (also known as June) and absolutely draws from Peggy’s patented resilience and determination. Offred was one of the few fertile women in a world that was destroyed by nuclear war. She was kidnapped and enslaved to reproduce for the wealthy, who are running a totalitarian nation where women have no power. The first season alone shows enough strife and emotional turmoil to completely warrant her two Emmys.
