The Cast Of The Drew Carey Show: Where Are They Now?
An easygoing Cleveland Everyman seeks simple pleasures in the company of his oddball friends. That was a summary of The Drew Carey Show, airing on ABC from 1995 to 2004. The show catapulted Drew Carey into comedy superstardom, and yes, Whose Line Is It Anyway? didn't hurt to host either.
But, for a show that's been off the air for over a decade, it doesn't hurt to see what the other cast members are doing since the series finale.
Kate Walsh as Nicki Fifer
Featured in a total of 19 episodes, Nicki Fifer was a real estate agent who got engaged to Drew. Nicki left Drew, but only after she started losing her weight. After her big breakout in Grey's Anatomy as the ex-wife of McDreamy, Walsh continued to play the same character of Dr. Addison Montgomery in the spin-off show, Private Practice.
Walsh had a supporting role in the first season of FX's television series Fargo.
Bill Cobbs
Playing a likable character, Bill Cobbs briefly appeared in The Drew Carey Show. However, he was successful in both television and films. Cobbs' career is full of little roles that made him famous worldwide. Some of the shows he also played a part on include The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, JAG, as well as movies Night at the Museum, The Hudsucker Proxy, and That Thing You Do.
In 2013 Cobbs co-starred in Oz the Great and Powerful.

She gained the lead role in the comedy The Mick, but it was canceled in 2018.
Katy Selverstone as Lisa Robbins
Selverstone played Drew's secret girlfriend, due to rules at Winfred-Louder that do not allow management to have relationships with their employees. After an unsuccessful attempt to live together, the couple breaks up, leaving Drew with her dog Speedy. Following the conclusion of The Drew Carey Show, Selverstone was involved with higher profile shows such as NYPD Blue, CSI, and CSI: Miami.
She also appeared on The L Word, Nip/Tuck and in one episode of Seinfeld.
Ian Gomez as Larry Almada
Larry was one of Drew's not so professional co-workers. A funny, bumbling character who sleeps his way into a promotion. After The Drew Carey Show, Gomez continued to work as an on-screen funny man, appearing in Felicity and Cougar Town. He and co-star Christa Miller appeared in Cougar Town, with Gomez playing the role of Andy.
He is married to Nia Vardalos, the actress-writer of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and he appeared in the sequel.
Wanda Sykes as Christine Watson
Christine had a soft spot for Drew. Considering she was hired to replace Nigel Wick, and she's cruel to the rest of the team. Her role was small, but a memorable one for sure. Sykes has been pretty successful in Hollywood. She played in Monster-In-Law, Licence to Wed, Evan Almighty, and gave her recognizable voice to the role of Granny in the Ice Age franchise.
Her I'ma Be Me comedy special earned her multiple Emmy nominations.
John Carroll Lynch as Steve Carey
Carroll played Drew's straight but cross-dressing brother. He moved to Cleveland and got himself a job in the cosmetics department at Winfred-Louder. Eventually, he married Mimi and quit cross-dressing altogether. Lynch's' big breakout was certainly the role of Norm Gunderson in Fargo. He then continued with successful roles in The Drew Carey Show and American Horror Story for two seasons.
He was also in movies like Face/Off, Gran Torino, Shutter Island, Ted 2, and Zodiac.
Kathy Kinney as Mimi Bobeck
Mr. Wick's assistant/secretary was originally scheduled as a one-time character for the pilot episode, but the character was such a hit that she worked her way into the main cast. In 2009 Mimi/Kinney appeared as a guest on The Price is Right, hosted by Drew Carey. She also appeared in Whose Line Is It Anyway and in Drew's Carey's Improv-A-Ganza.
More recently, she starred in The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Craig Ferguson as Nigel Algernon Wick
The sadistic Englishman was Drew's "husband" to get his green card, and he was Drew's boss. Wick had a knack for firing people, usually men with the surname Johnson. The Brit first auditioned for Suddenly Susan, but the casting director referred him to The Drew Carey Show.
Ferguson was nominated for an Emmy for his late-night talk show The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, which was a big hit after the conclusion of the show.
Diedrich Bader as Oswald Lee Harvey
Oswald started off as a DJ at the beginning of the show and transitioned into a delivery driver for Global Parcel, and even attempted and failed to become a nurse. The Drew Carey Show made Bader very successful, and he's most known for his voice appearing in many blockbuster animated films like Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, Ice Age, and The Penguins of Madagascar.
He played the Russian Cosmonaut in Space Buddies and currently stars as Gret Otto in American Housewife.
Tammy Lauren As Lily
Lauren played a Southern belle who met Drew after Oswald and Lewis started a campaign to find him a wife. As a child actress, Lauren's acting debut was the role of Melissa Turner in the one-season sitcom Who's Watching the Kids. Among television fans, Lauren may be best known from the 1990s for her role as Ginger Szabo on Homefront.
Most recently, she appeared on Two and a Half Men as Shannon in the episode "Aunt Myra Doesn't Pee a Lot."
Ryan Stiles as Lewis Kiniski
A genius with a 162 IQ who works as a janitor for a company called DrugCo, which conducts bizarre experiments, Lewis was a favorite among the show's fans. After The Drew Carey's show, Stiles continued to work as a performer on Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza as well as Whose Line Is It Anyway.
He made short guest appearances on Murphy Brown, Mad About You, Dharma & Greg, and in 2011 on Reno 911! He also played Herb Melnick on Two and a Half Men.
Drew Carey
The fictional version of Mr. "Everyman" is a nice guy who works in the human resources department at Winfred-Louder. Drew is also the co-owner of his coffee-flavored beer, Buzz Beer.
Today, Carey is one of the most recognized faces on the small screen. After hosting Whose Line Is It Anyway? Now, you can see him host The Price Is Right after he took over the role of host from the great Bob Barker.
Cynthia Watros as Kellie Newmark
Watros played Drew's childhood friend who was introduced in the eighth season. Drew went to a strip club and discovered that Kellie was working as a stripper to support herself. After the show, Watros was known for her role as Libby Smith on the ABC drama series Lost. She also played Annie Dutton in Guiding Light.
In 2013, she joined the cast on the soap opera, The Young and the Restless, but left the show in 2014.
Kevin Pollak as Gerald Hawthrone Ball
Pollak played Drew's boss for the show's first season. Mr. Bell only appeared in person for his last appearance. He gets caught having relations with a woman in his office, and he and Mrs. Louder have to talk it out. Pollak is an avid poker player, hosting weekly home games with some of Hollywood's A-list celebrities.
He finished 134th out of 6,598 entrants in the 2012 World Series of Poker.
Mark Curry as Robert Soulard
Another one of Drew's bosses at Winfred-Louder, Mr. Soulard was appointed by the Dutch as Mrs. Louder's replacement. Outside of his role as Mark Cooper, the ex-basketball player turned teacher on Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, the actor starred in Nick At Nite's first-ever original live-action family comedy series.
From 2012-2015, the actor even appeared on See Dad Run as Scott Baio's best friend Marcus.
Nicole Sullivan as Diane
Diane tricked Drew into marrying her because she believed having a husband would give her an edge in winning custody of her children. Sullivan really caught everyone's eye on MadTV, but also played the role of Holly Shumpert on The King of Queens. She played Jill Tracy on Scrubs and voiced Shego on Kim Possible.
In 2013, she starred in the short-lived Nickelodeon sitcom Wendell and Vinnie as Wilma Basset.
Adrienne Barbeau as Kim Harvey
Barbeau played Oswald's mother, who wears tight clothes and sweaters with plunging necklines. Her sexiness caused the young Drew in his childhood to commit some embarrassing faux pas.
Barbeau's autobiography There Are Worse Things I Could Do was published in 2006. In July 2008, her first novel, Vampyres of Hollywood, was published by St Martin's Press. Recently, she made two film appearances in 2018. She appeared in Big Legend and For the Love of Jessee.
Jim Piddock as Lord Mercer
Playing the role of an extremely wealthy Englishman, Lord Mercer bought Winfred-Louder and became the new owner after the Dutch divested themselves of the company. Piddock made his theatrical debut in the U.S. in The Boy's Own Story, a one-man show about a soccer goalkeeper. The show won Piddock the Bay Area Critics' Best Actor Award.
Following a successful stint as a stage performer, Piddock started successfully carving out a career for himself as a TV actor.
Kelly Perine As Chuck
Chuck is the security guard at Winfred-Louder who seems to have a friendly relationship with Drew. Perine had regular roles in the sitcoms Between Brothers, playing Dusty Q. Canyon, as well as in The Parent 'Hood, where he played Kelly Petersen.
In 2001, the actor appeared in numerous commercials for Motel 6. Most recently, Perine appeared in Legendary Dudas for four episodes as Principal Patt. In 2018, he appeared in Knight Squad as Sir Gareth.
He's An Outspoken Libertarian
He has expressed his political philosophy in the following terms: "I believe the answers to all the problems we face as a society won't come from Washington, it will come from us. So the way we decide to live our lives and our decisions about what we buy or don't buy are much more important than who we vote for."
Carey even had a major distaste when Bush was president.
His Love For Sports Turned Him Into A Sports Owner
In November 2007, rumors began to build that MLS would be announcing an expansion into Seattle the following week. Three owners were already in place, but the fourth owner ended up being the TV star himself.
Considering Carey is a die-hard sports fan, especially Cleveland teams, this was a natural fit. Now, the actor-host is a co-owner of the MLS club, the Seattle Sounders. The team won its first MLS Cup Championship against Toronto FC in 2016.
Carey Is A Supporter Of Libraries
Carey credited them for beginning his successful comedy career. In the celebrity edition of Who Wants To Be Millionaire, he selected the Ohio Library Foundation to receive his $500,000 winnings.
He later went on to win an additional $32,000 on the second celebrity Millionaire, making him one of the biggest winning contestants on Millionaire who did not win the top prize. Considering he played the role of an 'everyman' it seems like Drew has much more smarts than we give him credit for.
