Back in 2003, Fox attempted to capitalize on American Idol’s breakout season with an American Juniors spin-off aimed at a younger crowd. It was created by Idol creator Simon Duller and featured the same production team. The Juniors competitors competed to earn a place in a new five-member singing group.
It came to an end after one season because of poor ratings and the winners of the show put out one studio album that fell apart due to poor sales. Although it wasn’t all bad — Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale appeared on the show and was one of the girls in the winning group.
